Project Statement

Four is a women’s golf clothing brand honoring my grandfather, DeWitt Weaver Jr., a professional golfer who passed away four years ago. He dedicated every ball he played to God, inscribing Psalm 37:4 on each one. The brand’s name, Four, and its slogan, “Live Fourward,” are a play on the golf term “fore,” symbolizing anticipation, awareness, and preparation for a future of new opportunities in life. Combining graphic design, embroidery, and printmaking with storytelling, Four represents my personal and professional aspirations, uniting legacy with innovation in a way that pushes my creative boundaries. The Four website displayed on iPad features four main products: two women’s golf embroidered exercise dresses, a tank top, and a visor. It also includes historical information about DeWitt Weaver, including archived ESPN footage.

Artist Statement

Every day, whether we realize it or not, we create our image through the clothes and accessories we choose. Growing up around golf, I’ve always admired watching my family play, even though I never mastered it. My passion, however, is fashion. By designing patterns that reflect my faith, family, and identity, I bring my creative vision to life. Often, I found it challenging to discover significant golf apparel for women. As a graphic designer, my sketchbooks are filled with line drawings and spontaneous patterns. I struggle with finding just one medium to my liking, but I love experimenting with bold colors, expressive designs, and creative direction guided by faith. I strive to always create with purpose. In everything I make, I show how my faith makes me feel intertwined, whether designing a T-shirt, painting murals, editing a year recap video, filming weddings, creating graphics for events, or capturing moments of my friends through photography. Through each medium, I tell a story rooted in reflecting something bigger than myself by showing gratitude. Creativity is overall my way of living “fourward”.
