Julia Jensen

Julia Jensen is a graphic designer from Woodstock, Georgia, where she grew up surrounded by a supportive family that played a big role in shaping her creativity. She has loved art for as long as she can remember, ever since she could pick up a pencil, and that passion has grown into a focus on creating designs that feel welcoming and easy to connect with. Her work explores how branding can build trust and create meaningful experiences. She combines creativity with research to better understand how people interact with design, with a strong interest in how color, typography, and layout influence perception. Through her process, she aims to create work that feels thoughtful and human.

While pursuing her degree in graphic design with a minor in marketing at Georgia College & State University, she has presented three research-based projects at Research Day and completed three internships. In 2025, she launched her own branding studio, Julia Grace Design, and plans to continue growing it full-time after graduation.

Project Statement

I am rebranding an established dental practice into Legacy Smiles at Hickory Flat. This is a private dental practice in Woodstock, Georgia, recently bought by my brother and sister-in-law. My overall goal is to create a brand identity that is welcoming and trustworthy. I also want to honor the legacy that comes with buying out an established practice. As a result of my research, I’ve discovered several dental practices in the local area that share a number of similarities in terms of their names, colors, and logos. This visually blends these practices and takes out their uniqueness. To allow Legacy Smiles to stand out, I will be designing a new logo, color palette, typography, and brand assets that can be used across all signage, print, and digital platforms. This project represents how my design work has progressed to combine creativity with strategy. This project also represents how a mixture of branding and research can build trust and strengthen the overall care for the patients of Legacy Smiles.

Artist Statement

My work is inspired by a desire to use design to make people feel comfortable and cared for. I find myself naturally drawn to warm colors and simple, clean designs because they help create a space that feels welcoming and trustworthy. Through research, I’ve learned that design is more than how something looks. Design is about how a space is entered and how a person feels when they are in that space. My work as an artist is influenced by personal experiences, and I want to show that I genuinely care about the work I do through the designs I create. I want to create work that feels thoughtful and human, something that people can relate to on a deeper level. Through researching other brands, color psychology, and observing the way people interact with the world around them, I have learned how to move away from creating work that feels cold and impersonal. Every choice, whether it’s the color scheme, the font, or the way everything is laid out, is done with real people in mind. The work I do shows the type of designer I want to be, someone who will always lead with care and intention.
