ARTIST STATEMENT

I am an artist who is exploring the world of color and light through forms made from glass. I believe in the power of light in our daily lives and the importance it holds in my art. Light is a vital aspect of my work in that it provides me with the unique opportunity to dive into color theory and explore the power and potential of optics. My art seeks to show my audience the wide range of light and how the richness of color theory can change the visual experience. My art is inspired by the science of light waves. It also examines the relationship between light and color. My art is going beyond the two dimensional. It is exploring the realms of shadow, refraction, and the layering of color. I want my audience to leave with a new perspective of the majesty of color and light.

Project Statement

My project is an experiment exploring light and color through glass. Light is used to illuminate our lives physically and is often a representation of something deeper on an emotional, mental, and spiritual level. My project is an experiment on the spectrum of light and how colorful broken glass emphasizes light and the dimensions of color.
