Project Statement

Utilizing engaging compositions and expressive figures, this project depicts personal childhood narratives. In these paintings scenes of childhood wonder, friendship, and exploration come to life. With my college career coming to a close, I am using this as a chance to immortalize a few fleeting moments that have defined my young life. I am committing memories and anecdotes to canvas. This series evokes a sense of nostalgia and connection, allowing viewers to revisit their own cherished memories and recognize the shared humanity in our earliest experiences. This body of work is not only a celebration of my youth but a reminder of the enduring impact these moments can have on our lives.

Artist Statement

Art is my way of capturing and celebrating what I find around me, finding inspiration in the experiences I’ve lived and the knowledge I’ve gained. My work is deeply influenced by the people, places, and moments that surround me. I take what I encounter and channel it towards creation – the laughter of a friend, the nature I walk past, the new facts learned in my classes. Things, potentially ordinary to others, can be transformed by my perspective into something extraordinary. Through my work, I hope to highlight the significance of these experiences and invite viewers to see the world through my eyes. Each piece is a narrative, a story that conveys my gratitude for the present and my hope for the future.
