Project Statement
MockPop is a branding project that explores the connection between design, branding, and the marketing industry. These designs combine health and wellness with social environments through mocktail flavored drinks to enjoy in any setting. This series uses intricate packaging and interactive PR to reach its target audience of adults while focusing on maintaining a positive outlook on health. This brand takes inspiration from the public relations industry to bridge the gap between health and social settings. The installation that represents this series combines digital art and graphic design represented through typography and industrial materials, to create an installation that is eye-catching and can be a positive addition to anyone’s health journey. MockPop showcases my personal style of bright and pastel colors as well as an 80s-inspired influence throughout the packaging and PR to further reach its target audience.
Artist Statement
My artistic interests focus on creating digital works through a variety of media, including graphic design, digital illustrations, photography, and typography. I utilize these skills in my creative works to intertwine design and its role in social media. Growing up during the explosion of social media influenced the way I see design as I watched how brands began to use these platforms to their benefit. This motivated me to seek a career in this field with the goal of bridging the gap between graphic design and the marketing industry. My creative style is inspired by my personal health and wellness journey. Navigating this path has given me a new perspective on art that motivates me to use aspects of my life that were difficult and turn them into something positive and uplifting for myself and others to enjoy. As an artist, I strive to use design to create meaningful work that shifts struggle into positivity and can easily connect with viewers in any setting.
